Malai works from Victoria Park, South Bristol, from a complimentary therapy clinic called The Family Practice on Gloucester Road, North Bristol and from the Southville Clinic, Bristol in the south west of England.
Malai holds a Diploma for Therapeutic counselling. She trained at the Institute for Psychosynthesis in London from 1988 to 1991.
Malai trained at the College of Traditional Acupuncture, Royal Leamington Spa and qualified in 1985.
